I give 3.5 stars. I read about menu confusion in reviews beforehand so I checked the online menu before going. I am not a big fan of Qdoba but its gotten better recently and have lost favor w Chipotle. Before ordering I sampled the chicken and steak. Both were solid but the chicken stood out. I ordered a Chicken Homewrecker burrito. Nice choices of ingredients to add. I enjoyed the burrito but heres the negatives: chicken taste drowned out by the other ingredients (may need more meat), the rice was just ok (Chiptole's lime cilantro rice is pretty amazing), burrito wrap could use more warming. Price for size may be a touch pricey to some. I will be back to try the tacos and another burrito. Free chips were given for my order. I forgot to try the queso cheese people mentioned. There is a salsa bar. As with most chains, I didnt really care for the chipotle based salsas. Limited seating inside so be prepared to carryout. They have a food club to sign up for at the register. All these places Moes, Chiptoles, Qdoba have very average guacomole. Mine puts all theirs to shame. Why is good guac so hard for these places to master? Plus they all put raw jalapeno's in it, which I abhor in guac. Revised: 2.5 instead of 3.5. I resampled the steak and it was cheap quality and not as tasty, and needed to be cut into smaller size. Not sure what happened. Not sure if they changed it. Went back two times recently. The chicken is good but bland and wasnt as flavorful, the wrap and chicken not warm enough, and a bit more bland than my prior visits. Kinda stingy on the ingredients. The rice and beans are rather bland too. I tried the burrito sans rice and then sans rice and beans to fully taste the chicken (which shrank the burrito quite a bit). The green tomatillo salsa is flavorful. The others mostly unimpressive. Id continue eating here but not worth $7 regularly. I keep liking this place but meh. When busy, slows down. Free chips cool but meh taste. They do taste better whn hot or warmed up at home.

I threw away my burrito without eating it. That should say enough. I tried this place twice. The first time was good. Went on a weekday and the place was busy and the ingredients seemed fresh. The second time was terrible. I went on a Sunday and was the only person there. The food looked like it had been sitting out for awhile. The guy behind the counter took about 8 attempts to roll my burrito - each time stuff was slopping out and he was just scooping it up and putting it back in. It looked disgusting. I wish I hadn't paid while waiting for him to roll it. I told him I didn't want to eat it anymore and the girl beside him bagged it up, laughed, and said "enjoy." I tossed it in the trash on my way out.

I really want to like this place. But so far, it's a no go. I've been here a couple of times. In my opinion, the prices are high for the quantity of food you receive. Moreover, the apathetic teenagers behind the counter managed to mess up my order on every visit. I ask you, who makes a chicken club quesadilla and leaves out the bacon?

Dear Moe's, I want to love you but your signage is awful. A "Joey Bag of Donuts" burrito, or a "John Coctostan" quesadilla sound intriguing, but nowhere in the store does it explain what's on those items. At least have little, laminated menus on standby. It appears frustrating for both your friendly employees and patrons who stare at the menu saying, "Huh?" My unnamed chicken quesadilla was flavorful and yummy...comfort Mexican food stepped way up from Taco Bell. I liked the option to add mushrooms (so good!) and your salsa selection is FAR better than Chipotle's, where you can't find a classic, red tomato salsa that won't burn the hell out of your mouth. The pineapple, cucumber salsa is a fun option for those who want to mix it up. The chips are perfect. I swear, fix the signs and everyone will love you more.

My first impression of Moe's was not a good one. This location is dirty. During my dinner time visit, the serving/food area was dirty, the cashier counter was dirty, and the floor and rugs were dirty. The staff was apathetic at best. Their marketing and "Welcome to Moe's" tries way too hard. Moe's crams their "cool attitude" and menu full of pop-culture references down your throat. To top it off, the food wasn't anything I would ever crave. Instead, it was bland and manufactured. The salsa signs says its "made from natural ingredients," but it tasted like it was "fresh" out of a jar. If you're seeking fast casual Mexican food, do yourself a favor and just go to Chipotle. It's right across Woodward. I will never return.

Other locations were good so I was disappointed in this one. The employees were all like zombies in their cold approach to barely wanting to serve you. The food was blah tasting and the chips seemed stale. I won't be back. Go to Chipotle across the street instead.

This is a pretty good little joint! I think in time they're going to get everything perfected and then they will definitely be my favorite go-to "fast food" joint. Came here on a Tuesday around 7pm. It's definitely tiny and the seating isn't laid out too well...it's cramped and at times there was a line out the door and all the seats were full...a good problem to have but I saw several people leave once they saw the crowd. It's a very long and narrow set-up so it's kind of awkward. The good thing is the food makes up for it!! I got the burrito bowl with the pork. I never get meat at these places ('Dobs, Chipotle, etc) but the shredded pork looked soooo good - and it tasted good too! It was really tender, no fat at all, and very flavorful. The queso I got on my bowl was fresh and tasty, but not too spicy. The beans and rice were very good as well. Hubs got the thing that was like a Crunchwrap and it was DELICIOUS. The inner shell was super crunchy, the flour tortilla was soft and the beef and queso inside were perfect. Out the door, 1 pork/queso burrito bowl, 1 crunchwrap and 1 soda were ~ $17. Seems a little spendy but, to our surprise, chips came with both our entrees. I got a HUGE bag of chips and hubs got a handful under his crunchwrap. I have a few things to say about the chips - 1) They were still super greasy (not in the good way) 2) There was NO salt on them whatsoever...that's like a cardinal sin in tortilla chip-ery! 3) I wish chips were an a la carte item. This was definitely more expensive than 'dobs or Chipotle...I'd rather pay less and not get the chips (which I don't eat anyways) and have the option to pay a dollar or two more if I'm feeling saucy. It's very wasteful in my opinion...not many people will eat an entire bag of chips on their own. If they work the kinks out of the chips (salt! salt! salt!) and maybe rethink their pricing, I think this place will be a home run!

Finally got around to visiting Moes. I saw this place on undercover boss and was excited to see locations opening nearby. Unfortunately that was the high point. Disappointed in the cleanliness of the location but continued to stick it out. The food was less then appealing but tasted, eh. Theater could've cared less if customers were here, nothing was explained and they must have worked a 12 he shift because they were lifeless. I think we will stick with chipotle and Qdoba. Disappointing

I haven't been to moe's in years. We stopped in here today because it was super convenient and I was pleasantly surprised. I had a delicious burrito with the most scrumptious roasted tofu. Menu items are named after clever movie or TV phrases. For example, my husband got the "earmuffs" which is a burrito bowl. I got the art Vandalay. :-) anyway, it was quick and fresh and healthy and tasty. Would definitely come back here. Location on the Westside of Woodward.

Not a big fan of fast food chains, but thought we'd try this one. Several unexpected features. These included: a large selection of sides, most of which came with the entrees at no extra charge. Unfortunately, the 2 sides I wanted (guacamole and Mexican queso) were 99 cents each. When added to meal prices that were already on the high side for a fast food joint, the result was a bill just under $20 for 2. For lunch(!). To make matters worse, the parts of the meal that matter most - the protein - we're served in rather skimpy portions. I noticed that many other Moe's locations - at least in Michigan - are in college towns. I suppose this chain will do fine when most of its patrons are on Daddy's dime, but not here. Another Yelper commented on the generous portion of tortilla chips that accompanied the meal. This was a nice touch: there was plenty enough to take home. I'll consider them a souvenir of a restaurant I won't be going back to any time soon.

Very impressed!!!! I heard about Moe's originally on "Undercover Boss." I looked them up on the internet and was excited to see this location, which is very close to my house! I signed up for the birthday club, but hadn't had a chance to get to the location yet. When I received my e-mail for a free entrée for my birthday, I HAD to go try it. It looked amazing on tv. Since I didn't have a way to print the free entrée coupon from my phone, I called first to ask if they would accept just seeing it on my phone, which they did. I got the "Homewrecker" burrito. The selection of things you can put on your food is AMAZING! I got rice, pinto beans, chicken, guacamole, tomatoes, sautéed green peppers and sautéed mushrooms. SOOOOO good! I ordered a side of their famous queso to go with my free chips, and wished I had ordered a much larger one! So good!!!! And OOOOOOHHHHHHH am I in LOVE with the Coca-Cola Freestyle machine!!!! 100+ drink combination options??? Crazy and fun and awesome!!!! The staff was very friendly, and the food was amazing! My first experience might have been for the free birthday entrée, but I will DEFINITELY be back!!!! :) Thank you Moe's for an awesome dining experience!!! :)

Stopped in today, Monday, at about 1:30 PM. I parked along Woodward, and as soon as I got out of my car it just seemed like litter was everywhere. Smashed water bottles, smashed energy drink cans, fast food litter blowing in the wind, etc. The first thing I thought was if this was a McDonald's there'd be someone out here cleaning this mess up. I go in and compared to other Mexican places like Baja Fresh, Rio Wraps, Chipotle, Odoba, etc. the menu seemed confusing. I decide on the steak burrito bowl. I tell them everything I want in it, and I pay, and now as I'm trying to find a place to sit in the almost empty dining room I notice all the table tops and counter areas along the windows need to wiped down. They were all covered with other people's food crumbs and waste. I find a spot at the counter along the window that looked not clean, but cleaner than any where else to sit. As I'm sitting there I notice the floor is filthy, also. Not like it hasn't been swept and mopped today, but like it hasn't been swept and mopped in awhile. I start eating my steak burrito bowl, and I was using the nacho chips they gave me to eat it sort of like eating nachos. Everything was tasty, but I kept having to spit out the steak which was in cube form because I couldn't chew it because it was full of fat and gristle. I have to admit between how filthy the place was and the fatty steak I couldn't get out of there fast enough. I don't really live in the area, so I won't be missing anything by not going back. I also want to add that when I was there the place wasn't busy at all. It was actually dead. Instead of having the 7 employees standing there waiting for someone to come in so they can all yell "Welcome to Moe's!" why not have a 2 or 3 of them out in the dining room cleaning? If my wife was with me we would of just turned around and walked out.

Food was good. But I had no idea what I was ordering. Menu has about 3 options for every item but no description.

I am a huge fan of the Ann Arbor Moe's so I decided to stop into the new Royal Oak location & give it a try. Big mistake! All of the employees looked like teenagers and acted as though they were simultaneously high and on the first day of their first job. I walked away with the saddest looking salad I've ever seen (I asked for black olives and received five. Five.) and some stale chips. I know how Moe's is supposed to be and this isn't it.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
